HP ENVY 6075 Setup & Troubleshooting Guide

• When it comes to setting up a new printer, the first thing you must verify is whether the printer is unpacked. Have you unpacked your printer? No? That’s alright. You can do it now.
• Gently remove all the packing tape, cardboard pieces, and Styrofoam sheets from inside and outside the printer.
• Have you finished with the unpacking? If yes, move on to the next step of the HP Envy 6075 setup, which is turning on the printer.
• For that, plug the printer’s power cord directly from its inlet to the electrical outlet.

• This printer comes with a built-in feature for universal power supplies. This means when you connect the printer to the outlet, it automatically turns on. So, wait a few seconds for the printer to power on.
• If it has been more than 3 minutes since you connected the power cord and the printer remains turned off, press the printer’s power button to turn it on manually.
• When you turn on the HP Envy 6075 printer for the first time, it might take a few seconds or even a minute to become stable.
• So, Wait for the printer to become stable and silent.

• Are you looking to perform the HP Envy 6075 set up on the latest Windows or Mac computer? If so, use the HP Smart app to complete the rest of the setup. If you’re using Windows 7, use the recommended full-featured software to install the printer on your computer.
• Install the HP Smart app from the HP printer’s official support page, the Microsoft Store, or the Mac Store, and open it on your computer.
• The Welcome to HP Smart screen will show up, followed by the Data Collection Notice and Settings. Click Get Started > Continue to reach the “Choose a printer” screen.



• Now, verify your printer name is displayed on the Choose a printer screen of the HP Smart app. If yes, click on it and follow the on-screen instructions to install the Envy printer on your computer.

• Otherwise, click on “Add a New Printer” or “+” to detect and install the printer on your computer manually. If you wish to set up your printer on the computer automatically, verify and enable (if necessary) the auto wireless connect setup mode on the printer and use the HP Smart app to do it.



• Once the printer is installed, you will be asked to enroll in an instant ink subscription. You will read more about enrolling for an instant ink subscription in the upcoming section of this article.

• The HP Smart app has the capability to select and install the printer that is in auto-wireless connect setup mode or connected to the same network as your device (computer or smartphone).
• The auto-wireless setup mode activates when you turn on the printer for the first time. But the thing is that this mode deactivates automatically after two hours or if you press the Wi-Fi button during this time duration.

• If you have pressed the Wi-Fi button accidentally or unknowingly, don’t panic. You can put the printer back in setup mode by restoring its network settings to default settings.
• You can do this in three seconds using the Wi-Fi button. Do you want to learn how? Then, here it is.
• Press and hold the printer’s Wi-Fi button for three seconds, then release it. The Auto Wireless Connect setup mode activates now on your printer.

• Have you installed the printer on your computer? The screen with a set of instructions and a video tutorial on how to load paper into the printer’s input tray will show up.
• Follow the instructions on the screen and click Continue.

• Now, a similar screen showing ‘how to install the genuine ink cartridges and align them’ will open.
• Follow the animation to install and align the cartridge on your printer. It is that simple.
• After aligning the ink cartridges on the HP Envy 6075 printer, it is ready to use.

• Before you begin, ensure that your Windows computer is connected to a stable internet connection. This is paramount.
• Open the downloaded HP ENVY 6075 setup file by double-clicking on it.
• Click Continue to begin the driver installation.
• If we are right, the “Installation Agreements and Settings” screen must have opened now. Click Next on it to continue the installation.
• Now, the basic printer drivers available for your OS will start installing. Hang tightly for the installation to be complete.
• Once the basic drivers are installed, the Connection Options screen will open.
• Here, choose the connection type that you wish to use and click Next.
• The rest of the HP Envy 6075 setup can be completed by following the prompts on the screen.
• After completing the driver installation, print a document from your computer to the printer. (Refer to the instructions given under this page’s “PRINTING PHOTOS OR DOCUMENTS” section for more details).

• If you want to use the WPS-Push method for Wi-Fi setup, make sure your wireless router is WPS-compliant.
• Start the WPS Push Button Method on your printer by pressing and holding the Power and Wi-Fi buttons simultaneously for three seconds.
• Now, if you see the light bar pulsing purple at the edge of the printer, that means the WPS method is activated.
• Go to the WPS-compatible router and press the WPS button.
• The printer will detect and connect to your network.

• Start the Wi-Fi setup by enabling the WPS PIN method on your printer. You can do this within a few seconds.
• First, press and hold the Information button on your printer. All the control panel buttons light up within a few seconds. When this happens, release the information button.
• Now, press and hold the Resume and Information buttons at the same time for a maximum of five seconds.

• This will start the PIN method, and as a result of it, the printer will print a page with a PIN code.
• Now, visit your access point or router’s GUI page and enter the printer’s PIN code in the corresponding fields.
• Remember to save the settings after entering the PIN. Once the settings are saved, the printer will connect to your network within a few seconds.

• Ensure that your computer or smartphone is connected to a stable wireless connection.
• Before we kick off, verify if your printer is in automatic wireless setup mode. You can do this at a glance on your printer’s control panel.
• The setup mode is activated if you see the Wi-Fi light turned on. Otherwise, the mode is deactivated. In that case, restore your printer’s wireless settings to enable the setup mode. We have already talked about how to restore the printer’s network settings at the beginning of this article. Go through them for details.
• Once the setup mode is activated, open the HP Smart app on your device.
• Perform the on-screen instructions to connect your HP Envy 6075 printer to the existing Wi-Fi router.

• Open the HP Envy 6075 setup software for Windows on your computer.
• Perform the on-screen prompts to reach the Connection Options screen.
• Here, click on the radio button beside the USB option to choose it.
• Now, what do you see? The screen with an image prompts you to connect the USB cable (recommended one) from the Envy 6075 printer to the computer, right?
• Do the same as instructed on the screen. Once the installer file detects your printer model, its name shows up on the screen. Click on it.
• Perform the on-screen instructions to finish the remaining part of the USB setup.

See, setting up the printer on a computer using the USB cable is that simple and fast.

• First, ensure that your devices (the printer and the iOS device) are on the same network.
• Next, open a page, image, or document you want to print on your device. Have you done it? Yes?
• Now, locate the Print option on the opened screen and tap on it. Alternatively, tap on the share icon and choose the print option.
• The Printer Options screen, as shown below, must now open on your device screen.
• Verify if your printer is selected. No? Tap on the Select Printer command beside Printer to choose your printer model.
• After choosing your printer, you can set the print preferences to your liking.
• Have you finished the print setup? Yes? Then, tap Print on the Printer Options screen.
• Now, the printer will start printing your document, image, or page.

• Launch the HP Smart app. First, verify if the printer model is selected.
• If you see another printer’s name on the app’s main screen, tap the plus sign or add your first printer to set up and choose your printer.
• Is your printer model selected correctly? Yes? Then, tap on the Print Documents or Print Photos tab to start printing from your smartphone to the printer.

• Before we kick-start, ensure that your HP printer is connected to the internet and installed on your computer.
• Now, go to the HP Instant Ink webpage. Sign in to your HP Smart account by clicking the Sign In button. Do you want to create an account? Then, click on the “Sign Up Now” button.
• Click on the “HP Instant Ink” command. This will open a screen that looks similar to the one below.
• Click “Continue” to enroll for an instant ink subscription.
• Choose the plan of your choice from the suggested list.
• After doing that, enter the billing details and complete the purchase process by following the prompts.

This is how you should entroll to the HP Instant Ink subscription.

• First, open Microsoft Word, Paint, or the Image Viewer (of your choice) on your Windows or Mac computer.
• Now, choose the text document or image file from the opened application you want to print.
• Have you selected the file you want to print? Yes? Then, click on the Print menu or press the Ctrl + P or Command + P buttons at the same time.
• This will open the Print dialog box. Here, ensure that your HP Envy printer is selected.
• Click Print if you wish to continue printing with the default print settings. If you wish to improve the print quality, modify the necessary settings and click Print.

• Launch the HP Smart app if it is closed.
• Here, click on the Scan tab.
• This will open a window with the options “Camera”, “Scanner, and “Import”.
• Select the one that best suits your scanning needs. Here, we have selected the Camera option since we are going to use our device’s default camera for scanning.
• If you wish to use the printer’s scanner glass for scanning, select Scanner. Similarly, if you want to scan an original saved on your computer, click on the Import option.
• Now, follow the on-screen prompts to scan the original and save it to your computer.

• First, ensure that the printer’s paper tray has enough paper.
• Next, place the original you want to copy on the scanner glass. Ensure that the original is placed with its print side—or the side to be copied—facing down on the glass.
• Now, you will see two copy buttons on the printer control panel. Press the Start Copy Black button for the black and white copy.
• If you want the original to be copied in color, press the Start Copy Color button.
• Do you want to increase the copy quantity? Yes? Then, press the black or color copy button multiple times until you set the number of copies you want.
• The printer will start copying your original after the last button press.

• Verify the power cable to ensure it is securely connected to both the printer and a functioning power outlet.
• Check the printer’s ink levels and replace any spent cartridges if necessary.
• Clean the print head and rollers to ensure no dirt or debris prevents the printer from working.
• Reinstall the printer’s software and drivers if the existing ones are outdated.

• Restart your computer and printer.
• Check your printer’s settings to make sure it is configured correctly.
• Ensure that the devices are on the same network.

• Restart the HP Envy 6075 printer and your computer. Is this solution sufficient to resolve the offline issue? No? That’s okay; try the next solution.
• Disable the “Use Printer Offline” option. This option puts your printer in an offline state, even if it is turned on and connected to your computer. You can verify and disable it from the print queue window of your printer.
• Verify if your printer and the computer are on the same network. If not, kindly connect them to the same network and then try to print.

• Installing and using an outdated or wrong printer driver can also lead to these kinds of problems. So, update or reinstall the printer driver to resolve the offline printer issue.
• Reset the printing system if you’re encountering this problem with the Mac computer.
• Verify if your printer is set to default. No? Then, set it as your default printer, and then try printing.

• Verify if your printer is powered on. If not, press the printer’s power button to turn it on.
• Use the diagnose and fix tool from HP that is “HP Print and Scan Doctor,” if you’re encountering this issue with a Windows computer.
• Are you accessing the printer using the HP Smart app? Then you can use it to diagnose and fix this print problem.
• Open the app. If you’re using Windows, click the Diagnose icon, as shown below.
• Similarly, if you’re encountering the problem on a Mac, open the app and click on the Printers menu, followed by the Diagnose and Fix option, to resolve the problem.
• Verify your printer status. If it says offline, try the troubleshooting solutions mentioned in the previous section to bring your printer back online.

• Restart your printer and the wireless router.
• Ensure that the USB cable is not connected from the printer to your computer. Also, the devices (router and printer) are placed closer.

• Verify if there is any device that can block the Wi-Fi signal placed between the printer and your router. If so, kindly remove them.
• Restore your printer’s network settings and then try to connect it to Wi-Fi.

• Check the Connection: A faulty connection is the most common cause of scanner problems. Ensure your scanner (Envy 6075) is plugged in securely and the power is switched on. Also, check that all the cables are firmly connected to both your computer and the scanner.
• Update Drivers: Outdated Envy scanner drivers can cause all sorts of problems, so make sure your scanner drivers are up to date.
• Clean the Scanner Bed: Over time, dust and dirt can accumulate on the scanner bed, affecting the scan’s quality. To clean your scanner bed, use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water (no detergents) and wipe the bed in a circular motion until it’s clean.
• Check the scanner settings: Make sure the scanner is set to the correct mode, resolution, and color settings. If you need clarification on what these settings should be, reach out to us for more details.
• Use HP Print and Scan Doctor: If you’re encountering this issue with a Windows computer, open the diagnose and fix tool for Windows (HP Print and Scan Doctor) and reach the Finding and Fixing Problems screen by following the on-screen instructions.
